Thanksgiving is jusssst around the corner! I'm looking forward to slowing down and enjoying some time with family and friends!
I think it may be my favorite holiday after all. Sure, there's a bit of fuss around the food but I enjoy the time spent in the kitchen with family, the inevitable afternoon stroll with the pup and the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. (One Thanksgiving when I lived in Maryland, we took a day trip to see the parade and I'll never forget it!)
Once Thanksgiving passes, I feel like Christmas festivities pick right up! Whether you're in BV full time or just visiting for the holidays, you're in luck! There is lots to see and do around town this time of year. From parades, to polar plunges to supporting small businesses with your holiday shopping, there's something for everyone!
Let's take a look at some local holiday sales, many of which start THIS WEEK!
Apart from shopping, there are so many events in the upcoming weeks! From Salida's Parade of Lights to Buena Vista's Christmas Opening, here is a list of a few of the events happening throughout the valley. If you've participated in Buena Vista's Christmas Opening before, you know it's such a festive day! Start the day with the infamous chocolate walk or the Ugly Sweater 5k and just roll with the fun from there!
Own or manage a vacation rental? Feel free to print these sale and event guides for your guests to be able to reference during their visit!
When you're done with all the running around and ready for some R+R, consider visiting our local ski resorts! As of now, Ski Cooper is set to open December 7th and Monarch Mountain has not yet released their opening date. Think snow (if you’re into that stuff…) and check their websites regularly as we all know things could change quickly if we get a winter storm!
Whether you're into the hustle and bustle or prefer to find yourself on the ski mountain, I hope you enjoy these upcoming weeks with friends and family by your side.
And if you find yourself in BV this winter and are wondering "Why don't we live in this *incredible* place?!" I would love to help you find a home! It's an honor to call this valley home and help others do the same!
Happy Thanksgiving from me and mine!
