All Things Buena Vista- September Edition

The temperature is dropping, the leaves are changing and there's more parking available on Main Street! This can only mean one thing... Fall is near!

We all know summer is my absolute favorite, but I do appreciate the slower pace of fall in BV. September brings cooler weather, quieter coffee shops, familiar faces and one of my very favorite events, BVStrong Community Dinner!

Seeing Main Street lined with banquet tables and chairs for the entire community is nothing short of magical. If you haven't had a chance to reserve your table yet, there's still time! Head on over to BVStrong.com to reserve your FREE table by September 6th and then mark your calendar for dinner on September 19th!

Once you snag your table, be sure to grab a tee shirt for you and the fam as well! If everyone purchased a t-shirt, the cost of dinner would be covered!

Looking for a way to connect with other locals? It takes a lot of hands and feet to pull off dinner for 3,000 people and it wouldn't be possible without the help of volunteers like you! On the website, you can purchase shirts, make a tax-deductible donation or sign up to volunteer!

AppleFest is another annual event that I love to take the kids to each year! This event will be held at Turner Farm on September 10th from 10-3 and is a nod to days gone by. With apple picking, crafts, two-man log sawing, homemade treats and live music all day long, there is something for everyone! At this popular event, you're guaranteed to have old fashioned fun and likely to run into a friend in the orchard!

Love our trails?! Me too! Whether you enjoy exploring by Jeep, bike or foot, 14er Fest is a great opportunity to connect with others who love to explore our local trails! The 14er Fest website details all the activities offered during the festival, including group hikes, fly fishing, off road adventures and lots of classes! Here in the Young household, we're always trying to figure out how to fix our bikes. I'm hoping to make it to the Bike Maintenance clinic, hosted by Black Burro Bikes on Saturday, to learn a thing or two. I'd love to hear what you're excited for! Take a look at the schedule and then reply and let me know what looks interesting to you!

And in case you have friends or family coming to visit this month, I wanted to be sure you knew about the Lakeside Motel and also Terrace on Main! The Lakeside Motel is under new ownership by locals Mike and Stacey Krayna and continues to provide a valuable resource to our community! Looking for a clean place for your guests to stay in the heart of town?! Look no further!

And then while you're out and about enjoying the last of these warm summer days, be sure to check out the new rooftop bar, Terrace on Main. With elevated spirits and unbeatable views, this gem of a venue is a great place to enjoy a beverage with a friend!

It's not over yet.... How will you enjoy the last bits of summer?!
